Coastal Vignettes

       Each October, NJMSC/NJSG hosts its annual outreach event, Coast Day NJ, on the docks of The Lobster House Restaurant in Cape May, New Jersey. One of the more popular events that takes place during the day is the Annual Coast Day NJ Photo Contest. In the months leading up to Coast Day NJ, a photo call goes out, and amateur and semi-pro shutterbugs respond to that call. Last year's contest attracted photographers from throughout the state and, of the entries submitted, the best of the best were chosen for display at Coast Day NJ.

       A voting booth was set up at The Lobster House and throughout the day, the hundreds of visitors who walked the docks at Coast Day NJ cast votes for their favorites. The winners of the photo contest from Coast Day NJ 2008 offered poignant glimpses at life on the Jersey Shore.
