Program Overview

NJMSC provides equal-opportunity for any New Jersey-student interested in Marine Science to attend Consortium-sponsored undergraduate and graduate courses. Classes are held in cooperation with Participating Member Institutions. Students enrolled at these institutions may take NJMSC summer classes for direct credit. Transfer credit can be arranged for students at non-member schools through these participating schools. Classes meet on Sandy Hook and feature outdoor instruction on the beach and at the bay.
Summer course offerings

To Register:
Enrollment in NJMSC classes is limited. First, contact Rosemary Higgins at NJMSC as soon as possible to reserve your seat(s). Then contact your NJMSC Campus Representative to obtain the course code and any other specific registration instructions. Within two weeks initial contact with the NJMSC, you must also complete and return NJMSC's College Program Application with the required fees ($25.00 per credit, payable to NJMSC). This fee is non-refundable; however, we do ask that you contact NJMSC if you decide not to attend the course.
Prior to the start of your NJMSC-hosted class, you must also register with your participating college or university (or a participating NJMSC Member Institution if your school is non-participating) where the usual tuition and registration fees will be charged. Your registrar will need the course code that only your Campus Representative can provided so have it with you.
No registrations will be accepted on the first day of class. A student package including driving directions to your NJMSC-hosted class will be mailed to the address supplied by you on your NJMSC College Program Application.
Class Cancellations:
NJMSC reserves the right to cancel courses. Dates and times are also subject to change.
Grades:
A copy of your grade report will be sent to you and your registrar. Grade posting can take several weeks after the conclusion of your course. If you need your grade quickly, notify Rosemary Higgins
Student housing is available at nearby Monmouth University, West Long Branch..
